Designing a wedding at the Greenpoint Loft

We are so excited to be sharing our design process for Rachel & Steve’s December 2021 wedding at the Greenpoint Loft in Brooklyn! Rachel & Steve had been consulting + coordination clients of ours for a while when they reached out about adding on a design package, as well.

They were getting married at the Greenpoint Loft which is a totally raw space, meaning couples have to bring in everything themselves—lighting, furniture, florals, music, decor, food—EVERYTHING. They had an idea of how they wanted their wedding to look and feel, but were overwhelmed at the process of bringing it all together. That’s where we came in.

Our first step in designing this wedding was creating a vision board that encompassed everything they were looking for—unique & seasonal florals, cozy & impactful lounge furniture, romantic string lighting, and a cocktail style layout to encourage dancing & mingling throughout the whole night. Once we put this together and had Rachel & Steve approve it, we could start sourcing vendors to bring their vision to life.

Once we’d picked the perfect vendors for their wedding, we could finally do something new & exciting — create 3D renderings of the Greenpoint Loft with their imagined designs to present to them! As fun as it can be to design a wedding in a raw space, it can also be super overwhelming. It’s not easy to picture everything coming together in your head. The look that Rachel & Steve were going for was also a more comprehensive feel that required being able to see the whole space at once. They weren’t looking for just a specific tablescape or design; they had a very specific atmosphere that they wanted to achieve once all of their vendors’ work came together.

That’s why we wanted to have 3D renderings done in advance to make sure everything we had planned would actually work in the space. This also gave us the ability to move things around if it wasn’t perfect.

Even though nothing will ever compare to seeing your wedding venue put together on your wedding day, the 3D renderings were so important in helping Rachel & Steve see what they were investing in & what they could expect to see when they walked into their reception. Safe to say, the vendors delivered! See all the photos below of the final product.
