Wedding Venues in New York You Should Know About if You Want a Whimsical, Garden Wedding
After planning weddings in New York for over a decade, we’ve found that the celebrations that truly stay with us are the ones that feel tucked away, surrounded my nature. These bring a different sort of magic. Don’t worry, we love all types of celebrations and love stories, but there is something special about those hosted in floral-filled gardens, on rooftops overlooking the skyline at sunset, or that feel like a hidden escape from the city. We love a bit of whimsy!
So, we’re sharing some of the best whimsical wedding venues in New York for couples drawn to outdoor celebrations, garden-inspired design, and immersive guest experiences. Whether you’re envisioning a garden party, a weekend Upstate on acres of land, or a rooftop celebration adorned with twinkle lights, we think you will want to add these venues to your list.

What’s not to love about a hidden garden above the city? The combination of skyline views, manicured gardens, and cathedral architecture creates a setting that feels classic, sophisticated, and unmistakably New York.
Depending on your guest count, you can host your entire event outside with an indoor cocktail hour for the space flip.

Wildflower Farms is one of the most serene, nature-inspired wedding venues in New York, blending luxury Auberge hospitality with the beauty of the Hudson Valley landscape. P.S.- We love a candlelit dinner under their well-known Maple Lane.

Brooklyn Grange at Sunset Park offers a wedding experience that is modern, creative, and of course, whimsical. Another hidden rooftop in the city, surrounded by rooftop gardens, wildflowers, and skyline views.

If you know anything about NYC garden weddings, then you know Brooklyn Botanic Garden is one of the most romantic garden wedding venues in New York.
We love ceremonies beneath the whimsical willow tree, and an outdoor cocktail hour at sunset by the pond. During peak bloom seasons, the gardens create an atmosphere that feels almost storybook-like.
Note that if you choose this as your venue, you will want to consider the sunset time. Events start at 5 or 6 PM, depending on the season, and can be a 5 or 6 hour event.

This rooftop is one of our favorite ceremony locations in NYC. You’re truly on top of the world, and it offers some of the most iconic city views in New York.
